  • Time: 20.00

Addy van der Borgh has that rare talent of making people laugh as soon as he walks on stage. He is a great performer of highly acclaimed and original material, an ability noticed immediately by the BBC when he appeared on the ‘Stand-up Show’ on BBC1 after only one year as a comedian.

He has subsequently appeared on ‘Live at the Comedy Store’ for Comedy Central, ‘Live at Jongleurs’ and ‘The World Stands Up’ for Sky TV and the BBC3 series from Baby Cow Productions, ‘Brain Candy’. He has also written and co-presented twenty episodes of ‘TV Meltdown’ for Sky 1 with Kirsty Gallacher (2004 / 2005), has acted in a number of voiceovers for radio and television and has appeared on many radio shows including the legendary ‘Loose Ends’ on Radio 4.

Addy was the only British comic invited to appear in the Twentieth Century Fox Comedy Showcase in Los Angeles in September 2003 and was subsequently signed to the Hollywood agents Paradigm, and he recently played the starring role of ‘Jack Watson’ in his first film, ‘Little Things’ for Pandelic Films.

Addy studied clowning and physical theatre at LAMDA and with brilliant timing and an array of voices and characters he has risen to the top of the live comedy circuit. He has built a following of fans not just in all the major clubs in Britain (Comedy Store, Banana Cabaret, Up The Creek, The Glee) but also worldwide, including Spain, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Croatia, Switzerland, Cyprus, Dubai, Bahrain, Muscat, Qatar, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Shanghai and Australia, as well as entertaining the troops in Afghanistan.

He has also performed complete sell out runs at the South Africa Comedy Festival in Cape Town (2002) and the New Zealand International comedy Festival in Auckland (2006) as well as writing and performing sell out one man shows at the Edinburgh festival (2002, 2004, 2010).

“An unassuming comic genius” The Metro

“Spellbinding… perfect timing and physicality” Chortle

Dave Longley’s towering stage presence and intensity, combined with his cutting wit have made him one of the most popular and controversial circuit comics in the UK. Whether it’s doling out thought-provoking insights or reveling in toilet humour, he is a gifted wordsmith with great audience interaction skills.

David writes across a variety of genres and is currently working on sitcom, drama and documentary script ideas. He has written and performed four full length festival solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and has also written for 8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4) each one greeted with critical acclaim.

Longley has a humble silliness which ingratiates him to audiences, he delivers deadpan accounts of his everyday life which are shockingly honest, well considered and divinely funny, maintaining a rapport with the audience that is at once edgy and accessible, engaging the whole room.

He is a regular headline act at comedy clubs all over the country and is in demand so catch him whilst you can!

“Proves that comedy can say something important and, crucially, still be funny”  The Metro

“Challenging, puerile, brutal and hilarious. How’s that for dissonance?”  The Skinny
