Katherine Ryan - Glitter Room

What does Canada’s first woman to have a worldwide Netflix special have in common with Britain’s first woman to have a worldwide Netflix special?  They are both single mothers with too many pets.  And they are both Katherine Ryan.

This Canadian abroad is the UK’s 2017 break-out star. Katherine recently garnered rave reviews as the presenter and writer of Channel 4's critically acclaimed prime time series, How Did You Get So Rich? and also regularly appears on all the UK's major panel shows from BBC's QI, Have I Got News For You and Live at the Apollo to Dave's Taskmaster Series 2 (which she won) and Channel 4's Out of 10 Cats as well as co-hosting two back to back series of Comedy Central's upcoming Your Face or Mine reboot with Jimmy Carr.

As seen on Conan O'Brien, Lip Sync Battle, and instagram, Katherine Ryan brings her brand new stand-up show, GLITTER ROOM to the UK.

Originally from Canada and star of BBC’s LIVE AT THE APOLLO & WOULD I LIE TO YOU, Sky One’s A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN, ITV’s THE JONATHAN ROSS SHOW and Channel 4’s 8 OUT OF 10 CATS DOES COUNTDOWN, Katherine is a writer / performer and stand-up comedian who is dominating the UK television and live comedy scenes.

She is only the second British-based comedian to have a Netflix Original Comedy Special released globally after Jimmy Carr. KATHERINE RYAN: IN TROUBLE was filmed at the Hammersmith Eventim Apollo and was released to 190 countries on Tuesday 14th February 2017. Watch it here. She also performed stand up on THE CONAN O’BRIEN SHOW to publicise the special.

GLITTER ROOM is Katherine’s first UK tour since the hugely successful KATHBUM which had two sell-out nationwide UK tours as well as runs at the Edinburgh Festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. The tour culminating at the Hammersmith Apollo for the Netflix record. She also appeared at the prestigious Oddball Festival where she performed in Toronto alongside Aziz Ansari and Amy Schumer – she was the first UK based comic ever to perform at the festival.

Katherine will be performing GLITTER ROOM at the prestigious venue Caroline’s in New York from the 8th to the 11th June and then she has a six date run of GLITTER ROOM at the 2017 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal from the 24th to the 29th July.

Her critically acclaimed factual entertainment 6 x 45’ series HOW'D YOU GET SO RICH?, where she meets the super-wealthy, aired on Channel 4 in March and April of this year to extremely positive reviews and ratings (CPL Productions).

Katherine can currently be seen co-hosting two back to back series (22 episodes) of the reboot of YOUR FACE OR MINE with Jimmy Carr for Comedy Central - the first episode aired on 17th May 2017. She can also currently be seen as team captain opposite Richard Osman in Channel 4’s new 3 x 60’ panel show FAKE NEWS, hosted by Stephen Mangan and produced by Hat Trick, after filming a one off special earlier this year.

This June Katherine will appear as a regular panellist on new topical series FRANKIE BOYLE’S NEW WORLD ORDER for BBC Two alongside Sara Pascoe.
