York Barbican is teaming up with SIBA – the Society of Independent Brewers - to create a brand new event, ‘B-Fest’ - in the heart of York this August. For two days the Barbican will showcase the best real ale from a myriad of Yorkshire and the North East’s craft brewers alongside great local blues and folk artists and bands.
B-Fest kicks off straight after the SIBA North East region annual Beer Competition and the winning beers will be showcased alongside many others of varying styles and strengths. B-fest will see over 200 of the region’s best craft ales will be served through 40 handpulls along with local craft cider and “street food”.
B-fest has 3 separate sessions all bookable in advance (Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening)

Mark Scott, General Manager of York Barbican said “An event at York Barbican wouldn’t feel right without live music which is why we’re unveiling our brand new B stage giving local musicians a chance to exhibit their skills in York’s flagship music and entertainment venue. And if you don’t drink there’s a great range of non- alcoholic beverages plus some great cuisine on offer as well throughout the festival. Tickle your taste buds and join us at B-Fest this August”.
