Bringing international accolades and critical acclaim in it's wake, Christopher Tin's latest orchestral and choral suite "The Drop That Contained The Sea" has it's European premiere in York - the first of three UK dates. York's very own Prima Vocal Ensemble and Los Angeles' Angel City Chorale will be accompanied by The Mowbray Orchestra for this unmissable concert drawing on ethnic themes, classical influences and texts both ancient and modern.
A host of awards including 2 Grammy's and a billboard chart entry at no.1 have made Christopher Tin one of the most talked about classical crossover artists in recent years. Tin's work has been described as "rousing, anthemic" - Time Magazine, "a standout piece of music" - Wired, and "a musical milestone" - Wall Street Journal.
Featuring excerpts from his earlier pieces plus a new commission, this event, conducted by the composer himself, re-unites the two choirs on the same stage since the world premiere of this suite at New York's Carnegie Hall in 2014.
"Hands down, I can say now this will be the Classical album of the year – nothing will touch it. This wave stands taller than the rest. Stunning." - Higher Plain Music
