Russian State Opera To Return In 2020

12 Jul 2019

The Russian State Opera will once again visit York Barbican Tuesday 3 March 2020 with a performance of the classic opera, Aida.

After a successful season last year featuring show-stopping performances of Madama Butterfly, Carmen and La Traviata, The Russian State Opera returns to delight audiences in a brand-new production featuring breath-taking sets and new costumes.

Aida tells the story of the Princess of Ethiopia, who after falling in love with the Egyptian General Radames, is forced to choose between her lover, her father and her country as they prepare for war.

A gripping love story that will keep you on the edge of your seats until the very end, Aida is an unforgettable experience, over overflowing with emotion and containing moments of despair and uncertainty.
