Types Of Conference

York Barbican provides a unique and alternative venue for a variety of corporate functions, below you will find a list of the functions we offer.

Conferences & Meetings

The versatile Auditorium, the large, spacious foyers and our multifunctioning Lendal and Toft rooms offer flexibility for events from 2 to over 1400 delegates. In-house technical equipment is available for all of your audio visual needs. The Bars and Catering Team offer an extensive range of options, from simple breakfast rolls and light buffet lunches to substantial working breakfasts and stylish seated banquets. The Conference and Events Team will work closely with you on all aspects of your event.

Exhibitions

The venue is a great space for exhibitions; the auditorium is adjacent to both of our foyers, enabling a conference to run alongside an exhibition. For a larger exhibition the auditorium is a great space and when combined with the foyer areas, transforms York Barbican into an exhibition centre. All levels are easily accessed by both staircase and lift. The Conference and Events Team will work with you throughout the planning stages to ensure you get the most out of the space available, maximising the success of your exhibition.

Training Courses

Our meeting rooms are ideal for more focussed workshops and training sessions, or they can be used in conjunction with the Auditorium or Fishergate room as breakout spaces for larger events. The foyer spaces adjacent to the Auditorium also provide additional breakout areas and are the perfect place for team building sessions.

Award Ceremonies and Fashion Shows

York Barbican is the perfect setting to host an awards ceremony. Whether you want your guests to be able to sit-down cabaret style, theatre style or prefer a stand-up ceremony we can arrange the Auditorium to suit. Our excellent production and vehicular access make this an ideal venue in which to stage a fashion show. The Auditorium is the ideal shape and height for a catwalk, with seating for guests along either side and up in the balcony.

Receptions and Dinners

York Barbican is a great space for standing receptions and dinners. The venue provides great spaces from private dinners of 5 people to a banquet of 400 guests. For standing receptions, choose from our innovative reception menus, all of which are designed to be circulated to your guests. For more formal dinners, York Barbican Bars and Catering Team can deliver imaginative menus tailored to your preferences, season or dietary requirements.

Concert Hospitality

As a concert and performance venue, you can also take advantage of our spaces for corporate hospitality around a performance of your choice. Working in conjunction with our Box Office, the Conference and Events Team can organise all aspects of your evening, including tickets, programmes, catering and drinks.
